City of Launceston
City Innovation Strategy
Delos Delta worked with the City of Launceston to develop and deliver a City Innovation Strategy, a ‘people-first approach’ to innovation, intended to help Council and the community realise the immense value and opportunities associated with innovation.
The Strategy directs innovations in technology, data, economic development, and service delivery to improve community outcomes and meet the challenges of tomorrow. The City of Launceston’s innovation vision is to ‘take a people-first approach to foster innovation, embrace appropriate technology, and utilise data to enhance liveability, accessibility, connectivity and sustainability’.
This innovation vision is supported by six strategic themes, identified through stakeholder engagement and best-practice research. These strategic themes outline key areas where innovation will be targeted and channelled throughout Launceston:
- Transport and mobility
- Smart council and government
- Digital access and data
- People and equity
- Environment and place
- Economy and investment
With citizens at its core, Delos Delta worked with Council to design and deliver extensive engagement, informing the strategic direction of the Strategy.
“I am thrilled to mark the launch of this Strategy and I look forward to our city and the wider region embracing technology, celebrating innovation, and using data to enhance liveability, connectivity and sustainability for all.” – Danny Gibson, Mayor
Council adopted the City Innovation Strategy in June 2023.
