Wyndham City
Smart City Summits
Delos Delta continues to work with Wyndham City to deliver an ongoing series of Smart City Summits. The Summits are an opportunity for Council to come together with the community, businesses, and stakeholders to discuss the future possibilities associated with innovation and technology, and how these might impact Wyndham.
Delos Delta worked with Council to plan, design, and deliver the event, coordinating keynote speakers and facilitating group challenges to workshop local scenarios and opportunities.
Wyndham’s inaugural Smart City Summit centred on resilience, with a specific focus on preparing for, mitigating, and responding to the impacts of heat in the region. Keynote speakers for the event included Peter McKinnon, Director Planning & Liveability at Wyndham Council, Professor Sarah Bell, the City of Melbourne’s Chair of Urban Resilience and Innovation, Janis Birkeland, Honorary Professor at the University of Melbourne, and Nicole Barling-Luke, Community Lead at Regen Melbourne.
Held in 2023, Wyndham’s second Smart City Summit explored the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the future of local government. The Summit focused on how Wyndham responds to, manages, and plans for the impacts AI. The event’s keynote speakers included Jethro Pugh, Operations Manager at the Wyndham Tech School, and Dr Marc Cheong, Senior Lecturer – Information Systems at the University of Melbourne.
