Smart Casey Launchpad
Delos Delta has worked with the City of Casey across a number of smart city related projects including:
Smart Casey Launchpad
Working with the Smart City and Innovation Team at the City of Casey, Delos Delta developed the Smart Casey Launchpad. The Launchpad was informed by in-depth engagement with staff, the community and a diverse range of stakeholders. Due to the challenges of COVID-19 this successful engagement process was delivered virtually.
In addition to community engagement the Launchpad was informed by a holistic Research and Opportunities Report and a Smart City Benchmarking and Maturity Assessment.
The Launchpad is underpinned by an in-depth Implementation Plan which is reviewed annually.
“To continue to increase our community’s resilience we need to maximise the opportunities that are available to us. The Smart Casey Launchpad will drive new growth and position Casey as a leader in applying community focused technology and innovation. ” said Chair of Administrators, Noelene Duff PSM.
Endorsed by the Council in December 2020, the Launchpad has so far been a great success and helped to fast-track smart city activity in Casey including the delivery of a Digital Equity Framework. The Launchpad also highly commended at the MAV Technology Awards for Excellence night.
Digital Empowerment Insights Paper
Working with the City of Casey, Delos Delta developed a Digital Empowerment Research Paper that explored the key concepts and ideas building digital empowerment around the world. It highlights key considerations including risks and opportunities associated with digital empowerment.
‘Digital empowerment’ means having agency, ability and command of the internet, smart devices and other technology which enables everyone to thrive in the digital world.
“Given the importance of digital channels in our lives, we hope Casey’s Digital Equity Framework will inspire other councils and government bodies to adopt a similar framework to increase the access, affordability and digital abilities for communities around Australia” said City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM
The paper informed the development of the City of Casey’s Digital Equity Framework which is designed to provide a common platform for establishing and extending actions and partnerships towards sustainable and effective solutions addressing digital exclusion.
The Research Paper has been distilled into an Insights Paper.
Smart Casey Innovation Festival
Delos Delta participated in the City of Casey’s virtual Smart Casey Innovation Festival which saw discussions on a number of topics including digital equity, the circular economy, IoT, and smart cities. Our Managing Director Brook Dixon was part of a roundtable discussion on Digital Empowerment and our International Associate Director Rasmus Bertelsen hosted a keynote on Living Labs.
