Smart Places Strategy and Action Plan and Smart Places Study

Delos Delta worked with Cumberland City Council to deliver a Smart Places Strategy and Action Plan. Subsequently, Delos Delta collaborated with Cumberland once again to develop a Smart Places Study for the Westmead South Precinct.

Smart Places Strategy and Action Plan

This Smart Places Strategy and Action Plan is intended to support Cumberland as it readies itself to harness the exciting opportunities afforded by smart technology, data, and innovation, to deliver smarter, more convenient, and more sustainable services to its community.

We worked with Council to identify the many unique strengths of Cumberland and its community, leveraging these to deliver a Strategy that will guide Cumberland’s future as a smart place.

Informed by engagement and the aspirations of Council’s existing Community Strategic Plan, we worked to coordinate Cumberland’s smart places journey into six clear smart places pathways, which are:

Smart communities
Smart people
Smart services
Smart spaces
Smart movement
Smart economy

The Smart Places Strategy and Action Plan 2023 has been formally endorsed by Council.

Smart Places Study (Under Development)

The Smart Places Study will provide Council with a precinct-specific assessment to support future smart developments within upcoming redevelopments.

The Smart Places Study closely considers Council’s vision and key priorities for the precinct, aligning with the broader smart agenda for Cumberland, while seeking to maximise investment and benefits.

The Study, informed by engagement and best-practice smart city principles, will prioritise high-value technologies for inclusion by Council and development partners.
