Smart City Plan
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters endorsed their Smart City Plan in December 2020. Delos Delta worked with the City in developing this Plan which set a long-term vision, direction and objectives for the City’s future as a smart city.
Delos Delta worked to design the framework for Council to be able to plan, design and accelerate the deployment of smart city technology throughout the City and benefit the community.
To help realise Council’s smart city vision this Plan developed five core principles to shape smart city thinking and action. The five principles are:
- Innovation
- Sustainability
- Education and Training
- Collaboration
- Security and Transparency
A further five strategic themes and objectives were also developed to ensure the core principles and Council actions are aligned to the right sectors. These ensure that technology and data have a positive impact right across the entire City, and address key local opportunities and challenges. The strategic themes are:
- Building a smart community
- Strengthening the digital economy
- Developing a smart council
- Security a smart and sustainable future
- Facilitating accessibility and mobility
The Smart City Plan is one of the key mechanisms for unlocking greater organisational and community growth in a sustainable, connected and progressive manner. Smart city projects have since continued to be rolled out in the area.
Following Council endorsement in December 2020, the Smart City Plan was published in January 2021.
